This is the first in a series of drop in events to discuss floodplain management topics, and to talk about what’s on your mind.
These are informal gatherings on the third Thursday of the month at 9 am. No registration is required. Come on by!

Elevation Certificates are one of the basic tools of floodplain management. ECs touch on the work of Zoning Administrators/Administrative Officers, Engineers, Surveyors, and Insurance Agents. We’ll look at the current Elevation Certificate, consider how it is used, and discuss possible errors or corrections needed for the form… or the structure.
Steve Lotspeich is the Planning and Zoning Director, and the Community Rating System (CRS) Coordinator for the Town of Waterbury. Steve will join us to discuss aspects of Elevation Certificates as they inform his municipal work.
These Drop-In Discussions are strictly “live-on-Teams” and will not be recorded. The discussions are intended to support the work of municipal officials who are responsible for floodplain and river corridor regulations, and/or are involved in the broader work of floodplain management.
