FEMA is preparing updated flood maps across Vermont. Most communities will need to update their bylaws before the maps become effective.
The flood studies are being prepared by watershed. When the local watersheds are complete then FEMA will release a Preliminary and then effective Flood Insurance Rate Map for the county.
Get Ready for New FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps describes the map and bylaw process for municipal officials.
