Fri September 13 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Development Training - Waterbury

Vermont Emergency Management (VEM) will be hosting a 1-day Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) Development Training at the SEOC in Waterbury (45 State Drive, Second Floor) on Friday, September 13, 8am-4:30pm, led by Vermont’s new mitigation plan reviewer at FEMA, Jay Neiderbach, along with Melissa Surette, the Senior Planner in Mitigation at FEMA Region I. This training will be tailored around the needs and interests of participants, whether you are new to LHMPs or have developed many plans.

Aug 20: 1-day FEMA Benefit-Cost Analysis Training

Vermont Emergency Management will be a hosting a 1-day FEMA benefit-cost analysis (BCA) Training at the State Emergency Operations Center in Waterbury on Tuesday, August 20th. We invite anyone who is interested in developing BCAs for hazard mitigation projects to attend the training. I will send meeting materials and an agenda in the coming weeks, but wanted to get this on your calendars as soon as possible.

Applications due April 19 for CFM Exam

We are happy to announce that we have scheduled an upcoming Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) exam in Vermont this spring. The exam will be held on Friday, May 3rd from 10am – 1pm at the Agency of Natural Resource’s Annex building (located at 190 Junction Road in Berlin, VT). We will also be planning to host a 1-day review class, which will be scheduled soon. In order to sit for the 5/3/19 exam, a completed application and fee must be submitted to ASFPM no later than April 19th.
