As of January 1, 2025, real estate transactions in Vermont must provide information about the flood risk.
For:
Rentals: Prior to entering a rental agreement the landlord must disclose:
- whether any portion of the property is located in the FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA).
- further information required by the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).

Manufactured home / Mobile home lot Leases must disclose:
- whether any portion of the mobile home park is located in the FEMA SFHA.

Real Estate Sales: the seller must disclose:
- whether any portion of the property is located in the FEMA SFHA.
- whether any portion of the property is located in the FEMA moderate flood hazard area.
- whether the property was subject to flooding or flood damage while seller possessed the property.
- whether the seller maintains flood insurance on the property.
